Sponsorship of Top Awards: KW Kiwanis Music Festival

The festival committee is considering both live and virtual festival options. Please take the pop-up survey to indicate your level of comfort in participating in either or both options.

SOCIAL-DISTANCED FESTIVAL

We will announce whether or not we will hold a social-distanced live festival on November 30th, 2020. Should a live festival commence, registration will be from December 1, 2020, until January 22, 2020, and the festival itself will be scheduled for April 26-30, 2021. The classes will not be open to the public. Each participant may have a maximum of two persons attend their class. Classes will be limited to six participants per class. Music teachers will need to register for a music teacher pass and will be permitted into the venue provided capacity limits are observed. There will be other safety measures put in place which will need to be observed by all persons entering a festival venue. These details will be monitored by the venue's usher. Unfortunately, live classes will not be offered for bands, choirs, orchestras, or any other ensemble combination (including duets, trios and quartets). However, virtual options may be offered in these categories.

 VIRTUAL FESTIVAL

We will announce whether or not we will hold a virtual festival on November 30th, 2020. Should a virtual festival commence, registration will be from February 1, 2021, until March 22, 2021. Participants will be required to upload a link to a YouTube video containing their performance entry at the time of registration. Specific details on how to do that will be provided. On April 7th, 2021, a virtual festival schedule will be posted indicating when each class's virtual zoom workshop will be held. In these workshops, the adjudicator will address each class by offering general and specific comments and announce the class results. Comments will be posted in each YouTube entry's comment section prior to the zoom workshop. The official comment sheet as well as the participant's festival placement ribbon will be mailed to them after the workshop is completed.
